Doctor Who revisionism permeates the show’s long history. It’s hardly a surprise as the series passes through the hands of producers and showrunners and is watched by a changing audience. It’s barely different to Marvel comics changing the origins of its characters, or learning about the origins of the movie-version of James Bond.
